ADD/ADHD
I am certified in Special Education, trained in IDEA, 504 and RTI (response to intervention) and have more than 20 years of teaching students with ADD, ADHD, those who have behavior disorders and are emotionally disturbed. I provide counseling to parents/advocates, have written many IEP's and 504s. I do my best to make any suggestions, goals understandable and user friendly. It is not unusual for me to speak with a student, parent/guardian on the phone to help them work through a situation or meet on a weekend to discuss ideas when they feel they are at a crossroad.
Aspergers
I have a Master's Degree in Special Education as well as extensive post-graduate Special Education work from URI, PC and Salem State College. Over the course of my 20+ years in the education field I worked with some children, and adolescents, and the families who have been touched by Asperger's Syndrome. Often this work was in conjunction with the speech and language therapist.

I have more than 20 years of teaching experience and am certified in regular and special education, have a Master's Degree in Special Education, as well as Special Education post-graduate work. I was originally trained in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) to work with students with ODD, Autism, Asperger's, to name a few. I attend (and always have) conferences, seminars, workshops and trained with several behavior specialists. I've taught extensively with regular classroom teachers, worked closely with the behavior specialist, social worker, school psychologist and parent to develop a program that will meet the social and academic needs of the ASD child. If needed we'll use PECs (pictures) to assist the child, teachers/parents.

Pam is great. After 2 sessions, my son told me how much he enjoyed working with her. It's not easy for kids to be tutored in the summer, Pam has a wonderful approach and style. Thanks Pam!
